Exposure: The Sequel

May 28, 2008

Just posted a blog entry promoting Wetter over at Queer Writers.

I'd been meaning to do that for a while, but as the self-appointed Priestess of ProcrastiNation, it's my duty to put off until tomorrow what should be done today.

I decided to create a new e-mail signature to promote my blog.

Follow me into my rabbit hole...

My blog should also receive more exposure now that the link has been added to Alison Tyler's blogroll.

"Follow me into my rabbit hole" is a lyric that I, um, appropriated - er, borrowed - from "Alice," a song written by Raven-Symoné.

You know, when I was first considering pen names for erotica, I deliberated using the name Raven-Symoan. Clever? Yes. Circumspect? Hardly. I could have dropped the Raven and gone with just the Symoan, but... eh, didn't really work for me.

The Note Taker

May 10, 2008

While browsing the erotica section at Barnes & Noble, I came across a note inserted between the pages of editor Susie Bright's anthology, The Best of Best American Erotica 2008. Written on the reverse side of what appears to be a college-level homework assignment on Aristotle and "virtue ethics," is the following supplication:

And then he includes his telephone number and his e-mail address, the latter of which tells us something else about our mystery man: he loves pears.

While I am very attractive and have an amazing figure, not to mention an undeniably demure demeanor, I am certain that I am not the intended recipient of this note. It's too bad, because our love of pears is mutual, and we both know the distinction between your and you're. Based on these frivolous similarities, I am sure that Peter and I would have made a great pear pair.

P.S. If you have not done so already, you had better get Wetter.

Darling, it's better down where it's Wetter

May 2, 2008

Wetter is now available!

The anthology, a collection of lesbian erotica edited by Nicole Foster and published by Alyson Books, includes my story "Bowl Me Over." Wetter marks my print debut as an author of literary erotica, and I am thrilled to be a part of the collection.

Below is a synopsis of the book:

Take a long, wet trip into the sexual escapades of very busy girls in this collection of quick-and-dirty true lesbian erotica. With action ranging from naughty and nasty to tender and sweet, this new anthology is certain to make a splash.

My contributor's copies should be arriving next week. I know there are a few bookstores in my area that already have the book on their shelves, but I have yet to hold a copy of the anthology in my hands. I want to wait until my copies get here, because if I have a look-see in the stores first, then when the book arrives, it might be a little anti-climactic. Sort of like reading spoilers for an episode of a TV program. It just mitigates the excitement for me, you know? So I've opted to wait. If nothing else, it will be an exercise in patience, an attribute of mine that could still use a little fine-tuning.
