Cocktale Dress

December 31, 2009

Well, here we are - the last day of the last month of the last year of the 00's.

(Gee, this was so much simpler in the 20th century.)

As a follow-up to my previous entry, I'd like to share this adorable anecdote I discovered at the Love Train, a Mariska Hargitay fan site.

If the director desires "more cock," I'm afraid he is barking up the wrong tree.

Co-star Chris Meloni is the go-to guy for that.

P.S. someecards is one of my favorite hangouts.

I wanna take a ride on your disco stick.

December 29, 2009

Are you gaga for GaGa?

Up until a few days ago, I had never heard the euphemism "disco stick."

But then I was on YouTube, the abyss of addicktion. Er, addiction. Yeah. I was watching Benson/Stabler fanvids, because I 'ship them - it's all about the chemistry, and theirs is akin to a bowl of Rice Krispies - snap, crackle, pop.

So while I'm searching, I stumble upon this wonder:

Speaking of wonders, it's a wonder I was able to interpret the meaning of "disco stick" without any outside help. Several years ago, I enlisted the assistance of a close friend because I hadn't the foggiest idea how to (re)define "milkshake."

Oy.

Have a Fairy Merry Christmas

December 25, 2009

Kristina Wright has the official cover art and all-star line-up for Fairy Tale Lust: Erotic Fantasies for Women.

I am more than content to be counted among the contributors in the collection's table of contents.

Open Sesame Street

December 23, 2009

Over the weekend, I was searching online for images of Elmo and Grover. No, I'm not regressing - I was making a card for someone and I wanted to find photos of the puppet pals to paste inside.

In my search, I came across this very interesting image:

I spent a good five minutes LOL'ing.

Prurient puppets? Queer subtext on the Street?

Yeah, I can get with that.

Although I'll never be able to look another Tickle-Me-Elmo doll in the eye again.

Can It

December 21, 2009

There's been an influx of spam-style blog comments lately.

No, I wouldn't like to purchase a phallus enlarger, but thank you for inquiring.

I'll take a pass on the Viagra, too. (Who says diamonds are a girl's best friend?)

Hey, spammers! Two words of advice: can it.

Bitch and Joan

December 16, 2009

The Joans is my new favorite band.

The group is made up of men who are paying homage to Joan Crawford through music.

I'm a fan of Joan Crawford, too... and I'm also a fan of the movie Mommie Dearest.

I've never read the book it's based on - you can find it at your local bookstore in what Sophia Petrillo calls "The Bitter Children of Celebrities" section - but the film is such a guilty pleasure. It simultaneously takes itself too seriously and doesn't take itself seriously at all. I appreciate the picture for the camp factor, the kitschy nostalgia aspect, the queer quirkiness (or is it quirky queerness?) of it all.

Gawd, I love this song - "Mad at the Dirt" - inspired by the movie and Joan's (alleged) wire hanger hang-up.

Patron Saints

December 14, 2009

Calling all drama queens and kings!

I can't believe I never thought of this before. I share this with friends and family, but it never occurred to me to share it with fans, too. Shame on me.

If you're a seasoned theatre patron or an aspiring seasoned theatre patron, check out Goldstar.

Goldstar enables patrons to attend prodigious productions for very little dough - half price or cheaper, sometimes even free, with a very reasonable service charge.

The service is available in the following cities: Boston, Chicago, DC Metro, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, and most recently, Seattle.

Goldstar is legitimate, reliable, and user-friendly. And they have sterling customer service to boot.

Goldstar gets a gold star from me.

And I think it'll get one from you, too.

It's certainly worth a look.

Sleep on It

December 13, 2009

Fairy Tale Lust is now available for pre-order on Amazon!

This collection is edited by Kristina Wright and contains my short story, "Mind Your Peas and Qs," a smutty, sizzling send-up of the tale of the princess and the pea.

P.S. Isn't that mattress just delightfully deranged?

Naughty Is Nice

December 10, 2009

Got an e-mail from Kathleen Warnock the other day. BLE2010 tops TimeOut New York's list of best gay & lesbian holiday presents.

Looks like the book would make a pretty nifty gifty, eh?

There is also a blurb about the anthology in the UK's DIVA magazine. I'll try to get my hands on a copy.
